Indiana Jones Jacket

For those that want to “cut to the chase” I’ll jump to the end and tell you that I love this jacket. For more details about build quality and sizing read on. I have been a big fan of the Indiana Jones franchise since seeing the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” movie back in 1981. I knew then that I wanted a jacket like the one worn in the movie. I was not looking to wear it as part of a costume but wanted a quality jacket I could wear every day. As many of the other reviewers have stated, and I agree, this is not a costume item. Some have commented that it is more of a spring/fall jacket and while that is probably true I feel that it is still quite substantial maybe that is because it is obviously very well made. It’s a great buy for the price and seems like it is as close as I have seen to the movie jacket which is what we are all going for anyway right? When I first received the jacket I, like some others, thought that it was a little short but after checking out the movie again and some images on-line I realized that this is how it is supposed to look. Indy purist can correct me if I am wrong but I believe that it is based originally on a motorcycle jacket design so it is meant to be a bit shorter. I have been wearing it now for a while and the length of the jacket has grown on me. Not literally but you know what I mean, after wearing it a bit I love the length and would not change a thing. At the time I ordered it I was most concerned about sizing so I’ll relate what worked for me: I did what Todd recommended and simply ordered what I normally wear. I ordered a medium. I am 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh about 175 pounds. I normally wear a size 42 Regular suit jacket and this fit nicely. The shoulder length was perfect with shoulder seams hanging about two inches off of each shoulder. The sleeve length was nice with the sleeves ending just about at the base of the thumb. The hem (back) of the jacket hits me about an inch and a half below the bottom of the belt loops on my (standard Levis) jeans. About the on-line specs: when I got the jacket I compared the actual measurements to the sizing specs listed on Todd’s site and they matched exactly so if you use that as a guide you should be good. All in all a great jacket at a great price with a great look. I’m extremely pleased with this purchase.

The jacket turned out great! It arrived very quickly soon after I ordered it. I liked how it drapes well, and it feels soft to handle. I had to get used to the shortness of it (it's supposed to look that way), but I'm getting comfortable with it. Though it's a light jacket, it's certainly functional, not just a mere costume. Now the next thing is to have it get that "distressed" look, and get more Todd's offerings...Indy pants, perhaps? :D

This is a beautiful jacket, not a costume jacket. The leather is great, the stiching is quality and it looks damm good on me!

Wow. Very nice jacket. I'm a big guy and I ordered the XXL Indy Jacket with some trepidation. They don't always fit right. Well this one fit like it was tailored! And man, what a sweet jacket. Luckily, Colorado decided to have one last cold snap so I could wear it right away. It is a light jacket though, so not really meant to keep you warm, which should make it nice to wear at cons.

I've been an Indy fan since I was a kid. Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade is one of the first movies I can remember seeing (on VHS, no less), so dressing like Henry Jones, Jr. has been something I've been trying to do for a very long time. This coat is amazing, light enough that it doesn't feel stiff, but not so light that it doesn't function as a coat. I cannot wait until I pull together the rest of the artifacts I'll need to truly complete the ensemble, but it's a great step in the right direction.

Very nice looking jacket. My only concern is that it cant be worn of cooler days as the jacket is rather thin. I initially thought the jacket was too short and on receiving it expected it to look longer. But having had time to get used to it, it is the Raiders jacket afterall which was shorter anyway, I have come to realize this is how it is supposed to be. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Sizing is good.

I have owned many "Raiders" jackets in all price ranges. I wish I had gone with Todd's jacket first. The color and look of the jacket is really close to screen accurate. Look closely at the striations on the movie jacket and you will see how closely this jacket captures the look. It is a thin jacket which I think is a major positive as it lays well and feels just right. I can almost guarantee you will love this jacket. I like having stock sizes because with the incredible customer service, if you don't think it fits quite right, you can exchange it with no worries. I liked it so much, I bought two!

Todd has (once again) blown my mind with this jacket. My first Indy jacket was a 2012 Todd's Costumes jacket that I won on an online auction. Todd's 2013 version blow my old one out of the water. Better quality leather, and with one of the (if not the best) patterns for the Raiders jacket. Great jacket, great price indeed!

Todd has faithfully recreated the 'Raiders' Hero jacket for a reasonable price. The lambskin the jackets comes in is more shrunken than 'rib' striated, so I recommend requesting the jacket in as smooth a hide as possible to avoid a reptilian texture.
